Alex Leach - Manager

Alex has managed Healthwatch Tameside since January 2023, alongside his role as Partnerships and System Change Manager at Action Together CIO. He brings extensive experience from his time as Chief Executive of Healthwatch Salford, where he enhanced public engagement and influenced service improvements.
Alex is committed to embedding lived experience into health and social care design and delivery. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director for Oldham Active and has volunteered as a college governor. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active and spending time with family and friends, reflecting his broader dedication to public service.
Abby Turner - Coordinator

Abby joined Healthwatch Tameside in September 2024 as Coordinator, bringing over a decade of experience in community health and wellbeing. She has led health programmes at Burnley FC in the Community, worked as a Social Prescribing Link Worker, and coordinated wellbeing projects with Action Together Tameside.
Abby oversees daily operations, focusing on impact and outcomes. Passionate about reducing health inequalities and engaging diverse communities, she has completed BSL Level 2 and Spanish lessons. Outside work, she volunteers as a coach with Hyde Seal Swimming Club and enjoys fitness, food, and live rock and indie music.
Karen Whitworth - Engagement Officer

Karen joined Healthwatch Tameside in 2014, following several years working in the Voluntary, Community and Faith sector across Oldham and Salford. As Engagement Officer, she plays a key role in connecting with local communities to ensure their voices are heard and their experiences inform future health and social care services.
Karen is passionate about creating opportunities for people to share their stories and influence change. Her work reflects a strong commitment to inclusion and advocacy, helping to shape services that better meet community needs through meaningful engagement and collaboration.
Ayesha Khatun - Engagement Officer (Enter & View Lead)

Ayesha joined Healthwatch Tameside in 2019, bringing over a decade of experience in the charity sector. As Engagement Officer and Enter & View Lead, she connects with the community through face-to-face and telephone engagement, listening to experiences and ensuring voices are heard to improve health and care services.
Ayesha leads a team of authorised representatives conducting Enter & View visits, reporting findings and making recommendations. She is passionate about empowering people to transform their lives and communities. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new places, creative activities with her family, and finds baking both relaxing and rewarding.
Imogen Shortall - Research Officer

Imogen joined Healthwatch Tameside in July 2021 after completing her degree and volunteering in research, mentoring, and support roles with mental health and music education charities. Initially a Project Support Officer, she became a Research Officer in September 2024. Her role includes planning and coordinating research projects, managing feedback data, writing reports and recommendations, and meeting with providers to discuss improvements.
She also supports communications and engagement activities. Imogen is passionate about using evidence to drive change. Outside of work, she enjoys playing football with her 7-a-side team, writing songs with her band, and exploring Manchester’s pizza scene.
